"May loving memories bring you strength, comfort and peace"
Hello, I am Amanda Austin, an Independent Funeral Celebrant and I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my site.
When a loved one dies, people go through a turmoil of emotions, as a bereavement is one of the toughest challenges that we are ever likely to face. Fear, loss of control, pain, shock, anger and disbelief are just a few emotions that may be experienced.
Whilst in the depths of our grief, our usual way of thinking and behaving may be thrown off balance and it is during this difficult time that we may need the compassion, care and support of others. I hope that you will be able to lean on me, for some of that support, with my compassionate and empathetic approach, I will gently guide you through the difficult and different options that are available to you.
As a professionally trained and qualified member of The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants, who set flagship standards for 'best practice', my role is to guide you, but most importantly, to be there for you and your family, before, during and after the funeral, in whichever way serves you best. My work is non denominational and I am not aligned with any particular faith or religion.
I am based in the beautiful town of Christchurch, Dorset and can conduct services at all the Crematoriums, Woodland Burial or Spiritualist Churches in the area or I can conduct a memorial or remembrance service at a time and venue of your choosing.
I have a passion for caring and supporting people and my motivation to become a Funeral Celebrant came from my background in education, where I worked closely with young people with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as bringing stress reduction, relaxation and healing through the holistic practice of Reiki, of which I am a Practioner.
It is my belief that the combination of my work, training and personal experiences, have given me the understanding, knowledge and confidence in working closely with you and your family, and it will be an honour and privilege, to guide you and walk with you, through this most difficult of times.
"Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow
may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow"
